About Croatan Church of Christ

The Croatan Church of Christ began meeting in James City in 2001. We are a church dedicated to following Jesus Christ. Our mission is to speak the truth in love. (Ephesians 4:15) We are currently meeting at 4115 Old Cherry Point Rd. on Sunday mornings (9:30, 10:30) and Wednesday evenings at 7:00. When you visit us, you can expect a warm, friendly welcome. You will also be able to participate in thought provoking Bible Classes and experience worship similar to the first century church. We sing as a congregation, partake of the Lord’s Supper, petition God through prayer, and listen to the Word preached with conviction. Croatan is an independent church. We have three elders (Robert Fletcher, Peter Povich, Ron Hudson) who shepherd this flock (Acts 20:28ff), and three deacons (Donald Harvill, Craig Hearne, Tom Glasgow) who minister to this group. We have a preacher, Craig Hearne, who, with his wife, Kim, have served with this church for 25 years. The people of this church are a diverse group, some local, and others from distant places. Sometimes Craig will preach some in Spanish when we have visitors who don’t speak English. The Croatan church is serious about Jesus Christ. Jesus is the manifestation of grace and truth. (John 1:17ff) We emphasize the same. Please come and worship God with us at the Croatan Church of Christ.
